The Senior DevOps Engineer is responsible for streamlining the development of deployment platforms and processes, ensuring efficient collaboration between development, infrastructure and other stakeholders. The role bridges the gap between software development and IT operations teams by implementing automation, driving Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and effective infrastructure management, oversees governance of deployment strategies to ensure successful deployments and environment integrity and facilitates deployment and environment issue resolution. The role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's build, release, and deployment processes, utilizing tools and technologies such as version control systems, configuration management, and containerization platforms and works closely with developers to optimize code delivery and ensure reliable and scalable application deployments. The DevOps Engineer is also expected to advance a DevOps culture of agile transformation and evangelize DevOps throughout the organization, educating and influencing teams, leaders and individual contributors on the discipline and its benefits.

  • Takes the lead in developing and executing the organization's DevOps strategy, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and technological advancements.
  • Acts as a key liaison between the DevOps team and other business units, facilitating cross-departmental initiatives to embed DevOps principles across the organization.
  • Collaborates with development, security and operations teams to implement and customize the DevOps chain, ensuring smooth integration of tools and processes.
  • Mentors and guides DevOps engineers, fostering a collaborative team environment to support their professional development and enhance their skills in DevOps practices, tools, and methodologies.
  • Provides advice and guidance on options, risks, and impacts on business processes and technical architecture related to DevOps practices.
  • Implements configuration management and/or container orchestration strategy.
  • Implements distributed version control system with security policies.
  • Implements code, automation tools, custom tools, and scripts to enhance and evolve systems and processes.
  • Responds to production incidents, troubleshoots issues, resolves them promptly, and documents the incident resolution process.
  • Oversees implementation of branching and code merge strategies.
  • Builds, implements, utilizes, and optimizes CI/CD processes and tools to automate testing, deployment, and build pipelines, ensuring efficient and reliable software and/or machine learning model delivery.
  • Improves developer productivity.
  • Supports enterprise release management.
  • Researches and recommends options and technologies to deliver platforms more efficiently, considering factors such as cost, scalability, and performance.
  • Monitors the stability of all environments and services, including product performance and infrastructure utilization, and proactively identify and address any issues.
  • Builds high-quality and secure solutions with a strong emphasis on automation and innovation, applying an engineering mindset to optimize processes and drive continuous improvement.
  • Defines and manages organization-level KPIs and other metrics related to automation gains in deployment and security in applications.
  • Drive adoption of DevOps practices and spirit.
  • 5-8 years of experience in IT Infrastructure or Applications or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and/or commensurate experience.

Location

Hybrid defined as three (3) or more days per week in the office
