Nuclear Engineer III or Senior Nuclear Engineer - Electrical Design, Brunswick Nuclear Plant "Depending upon the desired qualifications of the successful applicant, the hiring manager may elect to fill this position at a higher level within the job hierarchy." Summary Duke Energy is seeking an Electrical Engineer III or a Senior Electrical Engineer for the Brunswick Nuclear Plant in Southport, NC. The nuclear industry provides power generation with no emissions and is vital to the clean energy transformation. As such, this position provides an exciting opportunity to leverage new technology. The selected individual will perform engineering work for electrical and Instrumentation and Control (I&C) projects within the design engineering organization. Responsibilities will include design package development for plant modifications, developing conceptual designs and specifications for bidding purposes, evaluating alternatives, technical support during implementation, coordination of design efforts with selected vendors and conducting design package reviews.A working knowledge or familiarity of cyber security regulations as mandated by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is required as digital components need to be cyber security compliant.Selected candidate will be required to qualify in the necessary duty areas to act independently as a Responsible Engineer for modifications within Duke Energy with past qualifications and product demonstration from other utilities as an acceptable alternative. Current qualification at a nuclear utility as a Modification Engineer, Calculation Preparer, or Design Verifier with knowledge of Passport or Consolidated Asset Suite for design and work order development is highly desirable. Experience in Operations is considered a desirable trait as well. Individual will be required to obtain qualifications for a Modification Engineer prior to working independently. Selected individual will function as the Lead Technical and/or Responsible Engineer for assigned projects and in a support capacity on other project teams.
