The Contribution You'll bring to this Role:

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for driving continuous improvement in manufacturing processes, ensuring efficient production methods, and leading projects related to product development and manufacturing enhancement. This role involves developing innovative methods, tooling, and machine designs, as well as resolving complex engineering challenges within standard products or jobbing lines. The ideal candidate will have strong project management skills, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget while maintaining product quality and adhering to safety standards.

What You'll Do at Justrite:



  • Plans and evaluates engineering methods and technical facets of assignments for the purpose of gathering informational data used to analyze and recommend solutions


  • Conduct special studies involved in terms of methods, time, and manufacturing estimates on new complex work including areas of workflow utilization and space requirements to maximize operational efficiency


  • Investigate various types of new machines and equipment as to versatility and diversification of production including identifying required features, cost analysis and other conditions involved. Prepare reports and recommendations for management information relative to purchase or lease deals.


  • Collaborates closely with other departments, e.g., Plant, Maintenance and Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, et al., whose services are necessary to bring project assignments to completion


  • Lead cross-functional teams to improve manufacturing processes and efficiency.


  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and other staff.
  • Participate in Lean Manufacturing activities when appropriate.


Your Skills and Expertise:

To ensure your success from day one in this role, Justrite requires the following qualifications at a minimum:



  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering; Coursework and knowledge of Production and Process Engineering is desired


  • Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing or related engineering experience required
  • A minimum of five years work experience in Manufacturing or related Engineering experience in the areas of sheet metal/metal working industry to acquire sufficient background and technique in the fabrication area

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to mentor early career staff
  • Proven experience in idea generation to reduce costs and improve quality.
  • Proven experience working with Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Proven experience implementing new products and processes with demonstrated leadership in project management.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, including the ability to lead projects to successful completion within budget and timeline constraints.
  • Experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD and MAPICS is a plus.
  • Knowledge and experience in the areas of automated forming equipment, automated welding, blanking lines, roll forming, and other fabrication processes.


Compensation:

The position offers a competitive base salary ranging from $85,000 to $95,000.

Actual base salaries will vary and may be above or below the recommended pay range based on factors such as but not limited to location, relevant experience and performance. Additionally, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan to enhance their overall total compensation package when Justrite Safety Group and their business units achieve annual business and financial targets.
