About This Role:

The assistant director will oversee the operational flow and strategy for the College of Agricultures Dean's Office. They will have a central role in

the achievement of the Next-Gen K-State imperatives for operational excellence by creating an environment and culture to retain high talented employees.



  • Provide strategic and day-to-day administrative oversight of office functions and administrative personnel.
  • Oversee college-level support for success, professional development and retention of College of Agriculture faculty and staff. Manage on-boarding and recurrent training of staff. Create professional development opportunities and career progression support to faculty and staff. Work closely with college-level Human Resources lead on strategies related to talent acquisition.
  • Manage space allocation for the Dean's office. Ensure maintenance of Dean's office facilities. Assist the Dean with policies for management planning of new College of Agriculture facilities currently being constructed within the Edge Collaboration District.
  • Create and foster an engaging and positive organizational culture.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Requires a bachelor's degree and three to five years of relevant experience.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Master's degree in business, management, human resources, communications, agricultural sciences or related field.
  • Seven or more years of experience in providing administrative or programmatic support in a professional setting.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to handle multiple projects.
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in coordinating or scheduling teams and clients.
  • Capability to be proactive and productive in a fast-paced environment, sourcing relevant input from appropriate sources and identifying innovative solutions to problems.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office tools.
