Scripps Green Hospital, located in the picturesque Torrey Pines area of La Jolla, is a key part of the renowned Scripps Health network, offering comprehensive medical services.

Position: Director, Performance Outcomes & Risk

As the Director of Performance Outcomes & Risk at Scripps Green, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring high-quality care and regulatory compliance across the hospital and the broader Scripps Health system. Your key responsibilities will include:



  • Leading and overseeing quality improvement initiatives, driving excellence in patient safety and care outcomes.
  • Developing and executing strategies to maintain and exceed regulatory compliance standards.
  • Partnering with interdisciplinary teams to enhance care quality and foster continuous performance improvement.
  • Monitoring and analyzing performance metrics to guide ongoing quality initiatives.
  • Providing leadership, guidance, and support to quality management teams, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.


In this role, you will implement strategic change initiatives in collaboration with corporate Medical Management, Performance Improvement, and Regulatory Compliance departments. You will be responsible for accreditation, licensure compliance, and quality assurance programs.

Acting as a trusted advisor to the site Executive Team and Medical Staff Leadership, you'll guide risk management, regulatory readiness, and quality improvement strategies. Additionally, you'll oversee the occurrence reporting system and lead root cause analyses, ensuring timely action plan development and execution.

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of leadership experience driving change initiatives within a healthcare or home care setting.
  • Strong understanding and applied knowledge of quality assurance, performance improvement, and regulatory accreditation standards.


Required Certification/License:



  • If a Registered Nurse, must possess a current California RN license.


Preferred Education, Experience & Certifications:



  • Master's degree in Health Administration, Nursing, or a related field is highly preferred.
  • Experience working within a large health system, particularly in a matrix reporting environment.
  • Advanced training or certification in performance improvement and risk management methodologies, such as:


    • Scripps Performance Improvement Certificate Training
    • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
    • Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM)
    • Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ)
