Enterprise Network Architect

Status: Exempt (Salaried)

Position Summary

Plug Power is seeking an experienced Enterprise Network Architect to be accountable for the direction, strategy, and implementation of the overall Enterprise (cross domain) Network Infrastructure Architecture. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting high-performance network solutions that meet our dynamic business requirements. This role demands a combination of technical expertise, strategic vision, ability to clearly communicate across all levels of the organization, with demonstrated ability to create and maintain proper records for network design and network solutioning.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate network strategies, participate in technology selection activities, and work with the business and IT stakeholders to ensure the long-term network infrastructure technology plan.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and communicate long term vision and comprehensive strategic plans for infrastructure and enterprise architecture solutions.
  • Serve as a hands-on technical expert for enterprise-wide network infrastructure technology.
  • Define principles/standards for infrastructure and/or enterprise architecture.
  • Lead vendor evaluation and selection of network technology solution.
  • Design and implement new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks.
  • Assist the Operations team with the installation, configuration, and support of networking equipment including NextGen firewalls, routers, switches, and WAN performance and monitoring.
  • Network Design & Implementation: Develop and implement enterprise-wide network architectures, including WAN, LAN, and WiFi designs, ensuring scalability and security.
  • Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the networking industry.
  • Oversee new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.
  • Create complex design artifacts including network layouts and logical/physical designs.
  • Ensure proper documentation including design, procedural and lessons learned; maintain and update existing documentation.
  • Develop and evaluate system/network performance criteria and measurement methods.
  • Research current technology and provide ongoing information to management, peers, and network users regarding enhancements and innovations.
  • Attend meetings with business stakeholders to assess needs and provide effective network solutions aligned with organizational goals.
  • Assist the operations team with the management, and monitoring of enterprise networks including (but not limited to) LAN/WAN//SAN/OT/IoT/Hybrid Cloud
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, providing technical leadership.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related area of study
  • 7+ years of experience providing network systems design, implementation, and support in an enterprise-class environment with a complex network architecture.
  • Experience with Network Design in complex environments (legacy and SDA).
  • Exposure to IPSec frameworks and encryption techniques.
  • Experience with IPv4 and IPv6 connectionless protocols, BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, DMVPN, VxLAN routing protocols, including iSCSI and fibre channel storage network protocols.
  • Insight and experience with ESX networking, including distributed switching.
  • Experience integrating Legacy/old Hardware into the DNA platform.
  • Extensive experience with Wireless (WiFi) network design, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Experience configuring policies on an ISE server to support role-based network access control.
  • Experience with Cisco routing and Aruba (AOS-CX) switching.
  • Experience with Cisco Next Gen Firewalls.
  • Cisco certifications highly desired.

Pay Rate:

$96,800.00 - $154,900.00
