POSITION SUMMARY

The intern role performs both qualitative and quantitative research to support to the business. As an intern, you will gain valuable insight into the commercial real estate industry while being exposed to multiple lines of business over the course of the program.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DEPARTMENT ASSIGNMENT:
  • Interns will have the ability to work on one or more of the following areas: Development, Finance, Investments, or Strategy and Planning.
  • Under the direction of the SVP or VP, the intern will do any or all of the following:
    1. Conducts research and gathers information for projects, reports, presentations, and ad hoc requests.
      1. Assists with the preparation of department slides for meetings in PowerPoint
      2. Learns the due diligence process to better understand its role in the acquisition, disposition and/or development process.
      3. Completes the financial feasibility underwriting on new acquisitions, dispositions, or development transactions.
      4. Develops understanding of internal software systems.
      5. Learn the basics of real estate capital markets and valuation.
      6. Assist in the valuation of the assets in CenterPoint's portfolio
      7. Develop an understanding of both our public and private peers and the metrics and benchmarks used to compare corporate performance
      8. Develop an understanding of the debt capital markets and how big real estate companies finance their balance sheets
  • Completes all other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program with a focus on accounting, finance, or real estate.
  • Prior internship experience preferred.
  • Must demonstrate superior:

    5. Excellent organizational skills
    6. Ability to build strong and collaborative relationships
  • Proficient in standard corporate operating systems and software.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
  • Self-starter that possesses innovative solutions and is proactive in resolving issues.
  • Hybrid work environment: 4 days in the office and 1 day remote; ability to be flexible with respect to work schedule.
