Overview The Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the lawn, landscape, sidewalks, parking lots and garages on the Hospital campus. His focus or objective is to provide a safe, clean and pleasing environment.Must be able to work independently from written or oral instructions without direct supervision. Required to work after normal hours, weekends and holidays to meet seasonal job demand. Works outside during inclement weather (rain, ice/snow) as directed. Why Nationwide Children's Hospital? Responsibilities
Performs a variety of landscape tasks: grading, seeding, sodding, rototilling, planting, fertilizing, pruning, spraying, weeding, etc.
Qualifications KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED High School graduateSix (6) months job related experience and some knowledge of grounds maintenance operations Valid driver's license required Ohio Nurserymen Landscape Installer Certification is desirable Desired by not required:Certification from a trade programMiscellaneous installation/repair certifications from vendors MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Walking Constantly Kneeling Constantly Bending Constantly Stooping Constantly Standing Constantly Pushing/Pulling Constantly Reaching Frequently Lifting (up to 100 lbs.) Frequently Climbing Occasionally Works indoors and outdoors, can be exposed to dust, dirt, grease, unpleasant weather, hot and confined work areas.
