Join our Emergency Services Department as a Registered Nurse (RN) at our Level I Trauma Center, Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego, where the RN will provide direct patient care within the scope of practice. With an average of 250 visits per day, this ED includes 49 beds and designated Psych and Fast Track areas. Additional responsibilities include but not limited to:

The RN Supervisor will play an integral role in ensuring the safe transition of patients through the continuum of care to include active participation of nursing staff in planning and coordinating patient care, and direct hand-off to next appropriate level of care ensuring the best patient experience.

Schedule - (2) 10 hour shifts , (1) 8 hour shift, (1) 12 Hour Charge Shift. Start time between 5 pm and 7 pm with occasional midshift for leadership collaboration.

Rotating Weekend On Call with other supervisors (about every 5 weeks)

In order to remain eligible for your retention incentive the following criteria must be met:



  • Must remain in original hired FTE Status and Shift (if specified in offer letter)
  • Must remain in original department/specialty
  • Must remain in original Job Title
  • Transfers to other locations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may result in forfeiting remaining incentive bonus unless specifically noted in your offer letter.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:




  • Two years Emergency Services (ED) clinical experience, one of which in a leadership role


  • Graduate of an accredited program


  • Current CA State RN license


  • American Heart Association BLS, ACLS and PALS certification

  • TNCC within the first 6 months

  • Requires excellent skills in communication, problem-solving, team development, planning and follow-through


  • Ability to exercise the authority and responsibility for assigned services based on the scope of the organization and complexity of patient care



Preferred Qualifications:




  • At least 3 years of experience in ER


  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing


  • TNCC
