This opportunity is in the Human Resources Department.

The Human Resources department is responsible for key areas typically associated with HR, such as talent acquisition, learning and development, benefits, compensation administration, payroll, employment law compliance, and performance management. Role Description:

In the role of Director, Compensation Administration, you will lead the development, implementation, and management of compensation programs in pursuit of the Safety National's strategic goals and objectives while ensuring alignment with our overall Total Rewards Strategy. You will ensure compensation practices support the organization in attracting, engaging, and retaining talent while remaining legally compliant. By stewarding Safety National's compensation practices to be sound and competitive you will directly impact our ability to cultivate our most important asset, our employees.

Some of your primary responsibilities as a Director, Compensation Administration is to oversee job description and job family management, base pay structures, promotion and merit processes, short and long term incentive programs, holiday bonus, and other special compensation programs. As such, you will deliver scalable, secure, and efficient infrastructure services to Safety National. Additionally, you will conduct job evaluations and classifications to market price jobs and ensure internal equity and consistency across the organization. You will play an important role in educating leaders across the enterprise to ensure understanding of the organization's compensation philosophy and consult and guide them through pay decisions that reward performance and maintain internal equity and external competitive pay practices. You will also oversee annual salary budget planning, analyze compensation market data, and develop and manage compensation budgets and forecasts proposals, in partnership with Financial Planning and Executive Management.

The ideal candidate is someone with 7 or more years of experience in compensation management. This role will have one or more direct reports. As such, it will require prior management experience to qualify. Finally, someone who has extensive knowledge of compensation practices and the related regulations and compliance requirements.

Education:



  • Bachelor degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field; advanced degree preferred


Required Qualifications:



  • 7 or more years of experience in compensation management or work closely related to compensation management
  • Prior management experience including responsibility for all aspects of performance management
  • Extensive knowledge of compensation practices, regulations, and compliance requirements
  • Proficiency in data analysis, Microsoft Excel, compensation benchmarking tools, and HRIS systems
  • Superb professional written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to adhere to a hybrid work schedule working from our home office at 1832 Schuetz Rd. Saint Louis, MO
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word and Excel


      Preferred Qualifications:



      • Prior experience participating in third party compensation surveys
      • Prior experience presenting information to executives and senior management
      • Prior experience with software products Payscale and/or Payfactors
      • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or other HR certifications such as, SPHR or SHRM SCP
      • Prior experience with HRIS system UKG

It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall near the middle of this range. Compensation for the successful candidate will consider the candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience.
