Job Overview

Komatsu Longview Operations has an internship opportunity for a college student to work hands on with the Product Support group in Longview, Texas. This intern will be positioned in a highly structured learning environment where the candidate can make an important contribution. This internship is intended to identify future high potential Komatsu employees.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with in-house Komatsu mining and competitor equipment performance studies. This function can include report generation and presentations to support the product support group.
  • Participate in troubleshooting Komatsu equipment including tools involving equipment performance, economic analysis, mining methodology, etc.
  • Provide support to Komatsu mining product management efforts including simulation studies, competitive analyses, economic analysis principles, and other related data collection and analysis.
  • Be willing to participate in most aspects of field studies involving equipment application and/or performance analyses.
  • Participation in developing and conducting distributor and customer training exercises and programs.
  • Assist with information management initiatives such as collecting, processing, storing and sharing data.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Education: Must be enrolled in an accredited technical school with electrical/hydraulic concentration.
  • Experience: Prior experience with work study programs, school or volunteer leadership roles, participated on teams or in clubs, professional organizations, etc. preferred.
  • Soft Skills: Must have good written and verbal communications. Ability to multi-task, manage deadlines and easily adapt to new challenges and business working environment. Strong motivation to make contributions to Komatsu and strong motivation to drive results.
  • PC Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office specifically with Excel, Power Point, etc.
  • Travel: Some travel may be required.
