GENERAL FUNCTION The Senior Eye Care Director supports the Brand sales goals by leading the delivery of the brand mission and the eye care objectives, strategies and plans for the brand. The SECD is responsible to the related success of its affiliated optometrists in achieving their objectives. Also, to build strong relationships with Zone Vice Presidents, Regional Managers and Doctor Recruiting to ensure the brand attracts, motivates and retains doctors and doctor staff.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the delivery of a great eye care experience to select, contract, orient/onboard, evaluate, develop, motivate and retain doctors.
- Support recruiting and prospect for/maintain a pool of candidates for new and vacant locations. Work with RGMs and OD recruiting to provide candidates, follow-up on on-line interest forms, interview candidates as needed, and create strategies to address dark locations and OD turnover.
- Coordinate, direct and provide support to Onboarding of Doctors.
- Ensure optometric coverage is optimal to accommodate patient needs and grow the overall business. Execute strategies as needed to increase doctor coverage and engage the sub-lease doctor.
- Support the accountability for achievement of sales and financial goals; identify any trends and opportunities by drawing insights from analytics and creating actions to deliver.
- Provide practice management consulting to continually grow eye exams and deliver promoter patient experiences.
- Recognize opportunities for stores and offices to operate in the most efficient and effective way to ensure guest/customer /patient services focus; communicate opportunities to VPO/ZVP and SVP/GM.
- Execute brand business plan to achieve patient retention, eye exam growth, conversion, and deliver on annual eye exam strategy
- Maintain knowledge of state regulatory requirements for optometric practice. Stay abreast of any pending rule changes or legislation, and partner with Luxottica Retail's legal and regulatory services department accordingly.
- Ensure that all stores/doctors are in compliance with company, HIPAA, PIPEDA, and other privacy policies.
- Ensure the timely completion and submission of all EyeMed, Medicare, and managed care credentialing materials, preferably before doctors begin seeing patients. Follow-up with EyeMed, Verifpoint, and CAQH as needed to ensure timely processing of all credentialing applications.
- Ensure sublease doctors are aware of MVC plans in their area and encourage participation
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- BA/BS in business, health care or related field
- Key competencies of Leadership, Drive for Results, Motivate & Influence, and Critical Thinking
- 10 years of at least one of the following (may be combined experience in more than one area):
- Multi-unit responsibility for physician or optometric practice management, or
- Franchising, subleasing or contracting responsibility for an optical company, ophthalmology group, practice-management company or health care/ophthalmic goods and services vendor, or similar experience.
- 75% travel with at least one week per month at the CSC Headquarters located in the Cincinnati Service Center (CSC)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- OD degree; licensed to practice optometry in at least one of the states where brand does business.
Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
