Elwyn is currently seeking a Benefits Coordinator to be the employees' first contact for benefits inquiries. Researches and responds to general benefit questions providing high-quality customer service to both internal and external parties, assists employees with enrollment through the automated employee benefit enrollment system, and disseminates benefit information. The Benefits Coordinator is also the designated back-up to the LOA Coordinator.
SALARY : $55,000 annually
SHIFT: This position is mostly remote but will have to go to the office a few times a month. Must live in commutable distance to Media, PA.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Provide employees with information regarding benefit levels, benefit plans, claim filing procedures, and enrollment regulations and procedures through employee brochures, handouts, and discussions (meetings, benefits fairs, phone conversations).
  • Designated first responder to., calls and e-mails from employees requesting assistance through the benefits ticketing system
  • Send out benefits notices for employees who have a status change, new hires and terminated employees.
  • Process tasks in the employee benefit system related to qualifying life events by communicating with employees and receiving and approving the required substantiation documents as appropriate to each type of qualifying life event. Assist in the testing of programming changes to the employee benefit system.
  • Assists with the compliance of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) for all Elwyn entities
  • Assist other team members in the printing and mailing of pension packets and other benefit mailings
  • Provide back-up support the LOA Coordinator during periods of heavy LOA volume and/or PTO, as needed
  • Assists in maintaining the benefits materials for the new hire Welcome Day onboarding meetings.
  • Process life insurance for employees, i.e., processing Evidence of Insurability (EOI), enrollment, death claims, and waiver of premiums, as applicable
  • Assist benefits administrator in reconciling and processing monthly insurance and vendor bills for payment, resolve billing errors with the carrier representatives, and report on fees and costs to Director of Benefits to ensure Elwyn is delivering cost effective coverage and services
  • Administer the Education Assistance Reimbursement Program (including Master's Degree Incentive and Certification / License Programs, as well as the Discounted Tuition Program -- ensuring all communication and program partnerships are maintained. Report on program usage and costs to Director of Benefits to ensure Elwyn employees are aware of this program
  • Interface with internal departments to resolve employee inquiries, including but not limited to Payroll for employee deductions, Finance/Accounts Payable for payment of insurance bills, third-party vendors for mass production of printed materials, as needed, and Information Technology to ensure employees have access to the online employee benefit enrollment system
  • Work with, understand, and comply with terms and conditions of collective bargaining agreements (CBA) as it pertains to union benefit plans
  • Perform other duties as assigned


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:



  • Bachelor's in human resources or related field preferred
  • One (1) year experience in processing of benefit information
  • One (1) year of customer service experience
  • Working knowledge of benefit administration systems; either UKG or ADP systems preferred
  • Previous experience working within a unionized workforce preferred
  • Adept at handling sensitive and confidential situations
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks and deadlines, and solve challenging problems in a fast-paced environment while also working collaboratively in a team environment
  • Must possess excellent customer interaction, problem solving, collaboration, presentation, and written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated strong time management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated excellent judgment with the ability to independently solve problems and recommend actions to manager
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate future needed changes or identify problem areas and recommend effective actions to manager
  • Demonstrated intermediate experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Must have current, valid driver's license in state of residence, three (3) years driving experience in the United States, and acceptable driving record
