As the manager of the Software Quality Assurance team, you'll have direct impact on shaping the future of our software initiatives, working closely with cross-functional teams to meet and exceed the expectations of our clients and stakeholders. This role offers direct collaboration with senior leadership, reporting to the Director of Software Quality Assurance, Chief Information Officer (CIO), and the Executive Vice President of Technology, providing you with unparalleled visibility and influence within the company.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the daily management of the Software Quality Assurance (SQA) team, providing guidance with minimal supervision and ensuring consistent quality across all projects.
  • Manage the end-to-end SQA process, utilizing best practices, metrics, and executive-level dashboards to track performance, quality, and release readiness.
  • Leverage reusable frameworks to organize and manage test plans and artifacts, ensuring comprehensive coverage and documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement scalable business frameworks, refining test scenarios and identifying missed requirements to improve outcomes.
  • Drive continuous improvement, proactively addressing defects before production and guiding the team in developing detailed, traceable test plans and scripts aligned with business goals.
  • Lead test automation efforts, providing strategic direction and ensuring the adoption of automation practices that enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support UAT efforts, managing defects and ensuring timely resolution, while escalating risks and collaborating with senior management to mitigate issues.
  • Ensure strict adherence to controls, standards, and methodologies, reviewing and approving all test deliverables for quality and timely completion.
  • Apply in-depth SQA methodologies to adapt testing plans as needed, aligning efforts with business strategy and future needs.
  • Optimize team resources, balancing people, tools, and technology to meet project demands and deliver results while aligning testing efforts with long-term business objectives.
  • Engage with customers, analyzing their needs to ensure testing solutions meet business goals and delivering presentations on quality metrics to showcase the team's commitment to excellence.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and new technologies, integrating innovations into the SQA process to maintain a cutting-edge approach.
  • Ensure compliance with CMMI standards, representing the team in evaluations and actively seeking feedback to drive continuous improvement.
  • Recruit, retain, and mentor top talent, fostering a high-performance culture of learning and knowledge sharing within the SQA team.
  • Manage performance evaluations and development plans, ensuring KPIs are met and collaborating with HR on development initiatives.
  • Oversee administrative functions, including recruitment, training, performance reviews, goal-setting, timekeeping, and disciplinary actions.
  • Mentor and guide the team, offering support to ensure professional growth and alignment with team objectives.

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, with 8-10 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance, including 3+ years in a leadership or management role at large, complex organizations managing centralized or matrixed teams.
  • Proven experience with test automation tools, particularly Selenium, with hands-on expertise in designing automation frameworks and processes to meet organizational objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and evolve QA methodologies for both waterfall and agile (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) software development life cycles.
  • In-depth knowledge of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and software quality assurance life cycle (STLC), with a strong understanding of best practices.
  • Strong leadership and people management experience, including mentoring, coaching, and managing performance.
  • Healthcare industry experience is highly preferred, demonstrating an understanding of regulatory requirements and challenges in this sector.
  • Expertise in industry-standard QA tools such as JIRA, Jenkins, Rational Quality Manager, and HP Quality Centre.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in data analytics tools; Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, and Cognos Analytics, with the ability to leverage data effectively for performance insights.
  • Strong working knowledge of QA best practices and industry standards, ensuring alignment with industry-leading methodologies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, and Project, with a solid understanding of other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with collaboration tools such as SharePoint, Webex, and Skype, ensuring smooth team communication and documentation.
  • Test Manager Certification or Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is preferred.

Compensation

The compensation for this role is $120,000 - $150,000 per year.

Based on our compensation program, an applicant's position placement in the pay range will depend on various considerations, such as years of applicable experience and skill level.
