Job Summary:

Responsible for the efficient operation of the cage by supervising all cage personnel and cage all operation functions. Ensure that all Federal and State regulatory guidelines along with department procedures are complied with to safeguard company's assets. Responsible for supporting the Companies mission, vision, and values by providing fun and games like no place else, and adheres to the Canterbury Way by focusing on our core values.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Lead by example.
  • Responsible for maintaining a high degree of hospitality, as well as a positive and professional demeanor at all times.
  • Creates high levels of morale, fosters teamwork, inspires collaboration, delegates effectively and coaches and mentors direct reports for growth opportunities.
  • Safeguard Canterbury Park's assets and adhere to all department policies and procedures.
  • Must adhere to all aspects of AML (Anti-Money Laundering) and BSA (Bank Security Act) program and its current regulations; including, but not limited to, Title 31 cash transactions, suspicious activity reporting and customer identification requirements.
  • Communicates department's objectives to cashiers and implement praise and disciplinary actions accordingly.
  • Assists Senior Cash Services Manager with hiring, attendances, tournaments, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure cage functions comply with department rules and regulations.
  • Maintain positive work relationships with departments through answering questions and resolving concerns.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the facilities, current and upcoming special events and promotions.
  • Prepares daily shift reports and reconcile beginning and ending cash balances; including, verify tax forms, jackpot and tournament paperwork.
  • Ensure that the amount of currency and chips are on hand to meet daily Card Club requirements.
  • Maintains responsibility for the operation of the front windows, employee windows, main bank, chip bank, and satellite booth; fulfilling all duties of these positions, assisting when needed.
  • Maintain responsibility for sensitive keys during assigned shift.
  • Direct responsibility for training all newly hired cashiers and along with conducting on-going tournament training with current cage cashiers.
  • Schedule breaks and monitors shift change to ensure coverage and control overtime. Held accountable to a high degree for accuracy, confidentiality and thoroughness of department's records and reports.
  • Perform tournament duties and other duties as assigned.


Supervision:



  • Cage Personnel during assigned shift.


Required Qualifications:



  • Two-years of cage cashier experience required, or 1 year Relief Shift Supervisor experience required.
  • Basic technical knowledge of counting and cage equipment.
  • Excellent basic math skills.
  • Excellent leadership and communications skills.
  • Must complete BSA training and pass exam with a minimum of 85%.
  • Must be able to pass Canterbury Park's pre-employment screening which includes a criminal background check, verification of work history, and credit check.
  • Must be able to attain a Minnesota Racing Commission (MRC) license.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience as a Canterbury Park cage cashier is preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.

  • This position also requires frequent stooping, twisting or bending and frequent wrist or hand use.
  • Hours are determined by 24-hour schedule and subject to change.
