Responsibilities

Job Summary
The Program Manager-Trauma will work directly with with the Trauma Medical Director (TMD), Sr. Clinical Director, and Trauma Service Line stakeholders to advance trauma care. Provides applicable clinical, programmatic and administrative direction and leadership for trauma services at assigned site. Responsible to lead and/or contribute to multi-disciplinary network-wide development and execution of initiatives designed to improve quality/safety, cost/efficiency and patient experience. Assures evidence-based patient care by creating an environment that encourages the use of research in practice. Develops, implements and evaluates trauma program to comply with the requirements to maintain trauma certification as defined by current standards set by the American College of Surgeons.
  • Works independently and jointly with Trauma Service Line, Network, Hospital and Medical Group leaders, management, staff and physicians to effectively formulate and implement strategies, tactics and action plans required to achieve short- and long-term results for affiliated programs and services. Organizes and leads the development of standardized, multi-disciplinary care management processes, protocols, tools and other activities required to ensure that all trauma patients receive consistent, high quality care. Develops and maintains strong working relationships with physicians and ancillary departments to help achieve collaboration with Trauma Service Line strategic, operational and quality initiatives.
  • Directs the development and use of cost and other performance data to plan and initiate program improvement. Works with finance, quality, compliance and analytic support departments to maintain and effectively use program and project dashboards. Directs respective programs and services planning and implementation of performance improvement initiatives. Demonstrates good use of clinical registries and dashboards to monitor care outcomes to identify opportunities for improvement. Benchmarks against national performance indicators and/or internally developed targets. Plays a key role with procurement and supply chain to coordinate the use of research, cost, quality and safety data for the evaluation and selection of trauma new to market technology and new to HonorHealth technology.
  • Develops and assures strategies for excellence. With the TMD and Sr. Clinical Director, the Program Manager-Trauma will help coordinate the PI program through collaboration with the ACNP's/PA's, PI Quality Analyst RN's, registrars, trauma surgeons and other sub-specialist to organize document the concurrent review processes along with the complete follow-up performance improvement activity including loop closure. Assist the trauma research nurse and TMD in the implementation of clinical studies through coordination of the administrative and clinical personnel resources of the trauma program to include registrars, PI/ Quality Analyst RN's, ACNP's/PA's, Injury prevention/outreach RN and trauma surgeons.
  • Responsible for full working knowledge of the Trauma - One registry program. Accountable for timely entry into and accuracy of the registry to comply with Arizona State, as well as ACS criteria and expectations.
  • Oversee the staff and ensure adequate staffing levels, inclusive of hiring/onboarding, evaluating, managing performance, coaching and developing employees ensuring employee productivity, quality of work, and alignment of goals with our mission, vision, and values. Ensures compliance with all policies, financial stewardship by being accountable for the financial integrity around development and maintenance of department budget. Provide clear goals and expectations related to program performance, team performance and individual performance.

Qualifications

Education
Bachelor's Degree in nursing from an accredited NLN /CCNE institution Required

Experience
5 years trauma, emergency department or critical care nursing Required

Licenses and Certifications
