The Marketing Specialist will assist with the development and implementation of the market strategy for assigned business unit through strategic marketing campaigns to drive brand awareness and deliver superb customer experience. Work is performed under general supervision and is somewhat complex.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:



  • Assist with the development and implementation of the marketing strategy for assigned business unit through strategic marketing campaigns to drive brand awareness and deliver superb customer experience.
  • Support marketing and sales departments through collaboration, ensuring alignment with Caterpillar and sales during implementation of marketing campaigns, projects and/or initiatives.
  • Present marketing strategies to executive management, business unit managers and/or sales representatives.
  • Support overall marketing function through the attendance of marketing events and/or meetings with Caterpillar, business units, vendors, etc.
  • Provide progress reports on marketing campaigns, projects and/or initiatives, utilizing KPIs.
  • Assist in analyzing effectiveness of marketing campaigns, identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation.
  • Stay abreast of market trends in the industry and/or territory.
  • Responsible for advertising and event budget recommendations and/or allocations.
  • Maintain industry knowledge to support development of strategic marketing campaigns through attendance of training opportunities and/or research.



WHAT YOU'LL NEED:



  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Digital Advertising, Mass Communications, or equivalent level of work experience and one to three years of professional experience; or combination of education and experience.
  • Oil and gas and/or electric power industry experience is preferred but not required.
  • Basic knowledge and skills of market research, content creation, social and digital media engagement, and analytics.
  • Ability to complete basic analysis of marketing data (competitor, campaign or customer data).
  • Proficient project management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workloads and deadlines.
  • Effective leadership skills.
  • Ability to establish and manage effective internal and external relationships.
  • Effective written, oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficient problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Valid drivers' license and acceptable driving record.
  • Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours, as needed.
