Job Summary:

AVP, External Strategy - Market is responsible to act as primary liaison regarding CareSource strategy to external stakeholders including the Medicaid Department, Department of Insurance, Governor's Officer, Legislative Officials, etc.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and lead public and private partnerships with strategic influencers for new business opportunities.
  • Responsible for the development and oversight of the Community Education & Job Connect team and Community Based Social Determinant of Health Strategy Lead
  • Responsible for the oversight of the market Member Services Team
  • Coordinate and compose time sensitive responses to legislative inquires.
  • Collaborate with internal business to ensure accurate and timely delivery of reports, prior to submission to regulatory agencies
  • Liaison with site visits by regulatory agencies.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage relationship matrix with state and federal regulators as well as key community stakeholders.
  • Ensure that all new program requirements are communicated and implemented in a timely manner.
  • Serve on designated external and internal committees to represent legislative and contractual requirements for IN Medicaid.
  • Act as a liaison to compliance staff
  • Represent CareSource in external meetings with key stakeholders including legislators, trade organizations, consumer advocacy groups, etc to future CareSource's strategic objectives.
  • Identify, engage, and develop strategic partnerships with stakeholders to support new business opportunities.
  • Assist in translating business/program vision and strategy into operational tactics - collaborating to build the necessary organizational support and infrastructure
  • Perform any other job duties as requested

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience is required
  • Minimum of five (5) years of prior management experience is required
  • Minimum of three (3) years of commercial health care operations (claims, enrollment, provider agreements, etc.) knowledge is preferred
  • Medicaid, Marketplace, and Medicare experience preferred

Licensure and Certification:

  • To help protect our employees, members, and the communities we serve from acquiring communicable diseases, Influenza vaccination is a requirement of this position. CareSource requires annual proof of Influenza vaccination for designated positions during Influenza season (October 1 - March 31) as a condition of continued employment. Employees hired during Influenza season will have thirty (30) days from their hire date to complete the required vaccination and have record of immunization verified.

  • General office environment; may be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Occasional travel required for conferences and programs estimated at 25%

Compensation Range:
$150,000 - $300,000. CareSource takes into consideration a combination of a candidate's education, training, and experience as well as the position's scope and complexity, the discretion and latitude required for the role, and other external and internal data when establishing a salary level. In addition to base compensation, you may qualify for a bonus tied to company and individual performance.
